Sometimes, healing is brutal. Surgery that leaves swelling and pain. A fountain of tears that seems never to dry. Your comforting illusions dissolving leaving the cold reality of your life story thus far.
But it passes.
The yoga kriya is an incredible metaphor for human endurance. Mental stamina to maintain the present course and see future outcomes. The ability to master emotion by letting it flow through you and releasing that water which has become poisoned or pressured. The ability to have a subtle awareness of your own energy and direct it creatively.
Whatever your practice is for doing this work, keep at it. Don’t be ashamed to cry on the therapist’s couch. Let the tears stain the pages of your journal. Let yourself shake with rage or pleasure in your yoga practice. It’s ok that you’re still processing this old stuff. We humans have a lot to carry. Just keep going. It passes.
